1. Purpose This Academic Policy establishes the rules and expectations for academic integrity, performance, and conduct within the Operator Training Academy Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). 2. Scope This policy applies to all students, instructors, and administrators participating in courses or activities hosted on the Operator Training Academy Moodle LMS. It governs all academic activities, including assignments, assessments, discussions, and collaborative projects.

3. Academic Integrity

• Prohibited Activities:

  • Plagiarism, cheating, and unauthorized collaboration on assignments or assessments.

  • Submitting falsified data or impersonating another user.

  • Distributing or sharing assessment content without permission.

• Original Work: Students must ensure that all submissions reflect their own work unless properly cited. Instructors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection tools to verify originality.

• Consequences: Violations of academic integrity will result in disciplinary actions, including grade penalties, course removal, or referral to institutional disciplinary committees. Cheating, circumventing this policy, or engaging in other dishonest academic practices may also result in punitive action under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), including but not limited to Article 92 (Failure to Obey Order or Regulation) or Article 107 (False Official Statements), as applicable.

4. Grading and Assessment

• Criteria: Grading will be based on clearly defined rubrics and criteria shared at the beginning of the course.

• Timelines: Instructors must provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.

• Appeals: Students have the right to appeal grades through a formal process. Appeals must be submitted within 7 days of receiving the grade.

5. Attendance and Participation

• Engagement Requirements: Students are expected to actively participate in course activities, including discussions, group work, and assessments.

• Non-Participation: Failure to engage in course activities for an extended period (e.g., 14 consecutive days) without prior notification may result in removal from the course.

6. Use of Learning Materials

• Copyright Compliance: All course materials are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced, shared, or distributed without permission.

• External Resources: Students are encouraged to use supplementary resources, provided they do not violate copyright or academic integrity policies.

7. Communication and Conduct

• Respectful Interaction: All communications, including forum posts and messages, must adhere to professional and respectful standards.

• Prohibited Behavior: Harassment, discrimination, or any form of abusive language is strictly prohibited.

• Reporting Issues: Instances of inappropriate behavior should be reported to the course instructor or LMS administrator immediately.

8. Policy Enforcement

• Violations of this policy will be addressed promptly and may result in warnings, removal from courses, or further disciplinary actions as determined by institutional guidelines.

• Serious breaches may be referred to military or federal authorities, where applicable.

9. Policy Review This Academic Policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in institutional standards, regulations, or best practices.
